ARSENICUM ALBUM

Winter colds.Nose feels stuffed up, yet it discharges thin watery acrid fluid which excoriates upper lip. Dull throbbing frontal headache.When there are repeated attacks of this kind of catarrhs the discharge becomes thick yellowish muco-purulent, ulcer scabs form in the nose. Sneezing, but does not give any relief, it seems to start from irritation in one spot in the nose, which remains as annoying as before the sneeze.Discharge of burning mucus from the right nostril. Coryza,  from becoming chilled, while overheated. Dyspnoea, must sit up or bend forward, springs out of bed at night, unable to lie down for fear of suffocation.Anxious opressive shortness of breath  particularly when ascending an eminence and at night when lying down.Watery discharge causes smarting at nostrils as if sore.Fluent coryza, with frequent sneezing ; with hoarseness and sleeplessness ; with swollen nose ; alternating with stoppage. Patient is chilly,hugs the fire loves warmth (Nux-v,Psor,Hep-s,Sil). ARSENICUM IODATUM 

Annual coryza (Hay fever-Hay asthma-Catarrhus aestivus), sneezing, with excoriating discharge (fluent), discharge yellow honey like, asthmatic breathing. Nose obstruction in warm room, smell diminished.Vertigo < while walking. Head pain < while walking. Head pain < warm room. Head pain from exposure to cold wind, riding in cold wind. Enlarged scrofulous glands.

BAPTISIA
When there are present putrid diarrhoeic stools. Fetid, exhausting diarrhœa, causing excoriation. Stupor ; falls asleep while being spoken to, or answering ; heavy sleep until aroused ; awakes only to again fall asleep in the midst of his answer, which he vainly endeavors to finish. Drowsy, stupid, tired feeling ; disposition to half close eyes. Cannot go to sleep, because he cannot get himself together. Sensation as if there was a second self outside of patient. Feels scattered about, and tosses about to get the pieces together. Hopeless of recovery, and certain of death. Mentally restless, but too lifeless to move. Sordes on teeth and lips ; tongue ulcerated. Unusual absence of pain. Can swallow liquids only ; least solid food gags. Constant desire for water, with nausea and want of appetite. Abdominal muscles sore on pressure, with acute intermitting pain. Urine very highly colored and scanty. Feels as if lying on a board ; changes position often, bed feels so hard ; worst part in region of sacrum. Slides down in bed ; feels as if sinking away. Great aversion to open air. Chilly all day ; whole body feels sore. Prostration with disposition of fluids to decompose. Stiffness of all joints, as though strained ; rheumatic pains and soreness all over body.
Discharges and exhalations fetid ; breath, stools, urine, sweat, ulcers. Ulceration of mucous membranes, especially those of mouth ; also with tendency to putrescence. Enlarged glands.

Belladonna

Congestion of blood to the head, with violent delirium, phantastic illusions and visions.

Bryonia

Pain in the limbs while moving, aggravation in the evening.

GELSEMIUM
Commencement of the trouble, patient feels weak, tired, whole body aches. Constant chilliness, hugs the fire, cough hard painful, fever. Paroxysms of sneezing, excoriating nasal discharge, great torper and apathy. Desires to be let alone ; irritable, sensitive. Desires to be quiet, does not wish to speak, nor have any one near her for company, even if the person be silent. Fear of death ; has no courage. Great lack of courage. Every exciting news causes diarrhœa ; bad effects from fright and fear. Nervous dread of appearing in public ; singers and speakers. Complaints : from exciting or bad news ; sudden emotions ; the anticipation of any unusual ordeal ; general depression from heat of sun or summer. Sensation of falling, in children ; child starts and grasps nurse or crib (Bor., Sanic.), and screams out from fear of falling. Heaviness of head ; slightly > by shaking head ; > after profuse micturition. Sensation of a band around head above ears ; scalp sore. Wine aggravates, especially headache and eye symptoms. Thirst absent or slight. Worse from smoking tobacco. Frequent emission of copious, clear, limpid urine, relieving dulness and heaviness of head. Fears that unless constantly on move, her heart will cease beating, with fear of death. Pulse frequent, soft, weak, almost imperceptible ; slow and full. Fatigue of lower limbs, after slight exercise. Great lassitude ; general fatigue. Feeling of relaxation of whole body, especially of hands and feet, with indisposition to move. Becomes easily tired and exhausted ; especially lower limbs. Curious sensation of falling. Weakness and trembling through whole system. Complete relaxation and prostration of whole muscular system, with entire motor paralysis. Yawning, chilly. Languor and drowsiness when trying to study. Peculiar stupor or sleepiness in students, or persons of sedentary life, especially in hot weather. Disposition to sleep, a sort of stupor. Chill every day, 4 or 5 P. M. ; slight with "goose-flesh ;" lasts three-quarters of an hour ; with thirst. Limbs cold, with oppressed breathing. Fever without thirst ; wants to lie still and rest ; tonsils inflamed, right side. Fever coming on every evening after supper, which gradually increased and went off before morning, the patient continuing asleep. Must be covered in all stages of paroxysm.  Desire to be quiet, to be let alone; does not wish to speak or have any one near her, even if the person be silent (Ign.). Lack of muscular co-ordination; confused; muscles refuse to obey the will.
Child wants to be let alone, wants to lie still ; head hot, hands and feet cool ; face red ; eyes dull ; tongue coated yellowish-white ; no thirst ; breath hot, sometimes offensive, sleepy and drowsy, sometimes comatose ; during sleep, convulsive motions ; creeps and flushes run up back ; more or less moisture of skin, especially on palms of hands and in axillæ ; pulse depressed at first, later frequent and soft ; during summer or warm weather with southerly or southeasterly winds.

Rhus Toxicodendron
When the trouble arises from getting wet or sleeping on damp ground; from getting wet, especially when warm and sweaty. Bad consequences from getting wet, especially after being heated. Meningitis in exanthematous fevers, or after getting wet ; tingling limbs ; high fever ; restlessness. Pains in eyes when moving or turning eyeballs. Corners of mouth ulcerated, fever blisters around mouth. Great thirst and dryness in throat. Throat sore, feels stiff ; after straining throat. Parotid and submaxillary glands highly inflamed and enlarged ; swallowing nearly impossible. Pain in stomach and nausea, after ice-water. A dry teasing cough coming on before the chill and continuing during it. Cough with taste of blood, although no blood is to be seen. Restlessness of lower limbs in bed at night, > by motion. Stiffness, especially of knees and feet. Great heaviness, weakness and weariness of legs. Great inclination to stretch out leg and foot, in morning. Aching pains in legs, inability to rest in any position but for a moment. Sensation of stiffness on first moving limb, after rest. Limbs upon which he lies, especially arms, fall asleep. Spasmodic yawning, yet not sleepy. Soreness and stiffness in muscles, pass off during any exercise. Pain in the limbs while at rest, aggravation in the morning.

SABADILLA
Erroneous impressions as to the state of his body. Imagines : himself sick ; parts shrunken ; that she is pregnant, when she is merely swollen from flatus ; that she has some horrible throat disease which will end fatally. Delirium during intermittents. Headache from much thinking or too close attention. Stupefying headache with coryza, itching and burning of scalp, general heat of whole body ; < in forenoon. Lachrymation : when walking in open air, on looking at light, sneezing, coughing or yawning ; as soon as least pain is felt in some other part of body, for instance in hand. Spasmodic sneezing. θ Hay fever (Influenza, Fluent coryza). Either nostril stuffed up, inspiration through nose labored, snoring. Coryza with severe frontal pains and redness of eyelids ; violent sneezing ; copious watery discharge from nose. Face feels hot, as after wine, face and eyes are red. Remittent or intermittent toothache, often extending over whole side of face ; < from hot or cold food or drink, from walking in cold air, even with closed mouth. Cannot bear anything hot in mouth. Anything cold in mouth causes pain during sore throat. Mouth dry ; throat sore. Disgust : for all food ; for meat ; for sour things ; for coffee ; for garlic. No relish for food until she takes the first morsel, when she makes a good meal (Pregnancy). Thirstlessness, with exception of desire for milk. Diarrhœa, stool fermented, brown, floating on water ; liquid, mixed with blood and slime. Crawling, itching in anus ; ascarides. Lumbrici ; tænia ; worm fever. Vomiting of lumbrici, or nausea and retching, with sensation of a foreign body in œsophagus. Cough < from cold, or becoming cold ; as soon as he lies down ; violent spells recur at same hour or at new and full moon, with perspiration and lachrymation. Chill without thirst, often without subsequent heat. Evening fever with cold hands and feet and burning face. Whole body feels hot during coryza (Influenza).

Cyclamen Europæum
Mental labor impossible on account of dullness or stupefaction. Absorbed in deep thought, seeks solitude, thinks about his future. Confusion of head ; questions answered incoherently. Loss of former cheerfulness ; love of solitude ; aversion to work and to open air ; sensation as if room was too small, with reluctance to going into open air ; solitude and weeping give relief. Disinclined to work, with weakness. Ill humored, morose mood ; could easily take offense at every trifle. Feels as if brain was in motion when leaning against something. Attacks of faintness, cloudiness or obscuration of sight. Headache on rising and again in evening ; < left side, increasing till patient vomits, then > ; < by motion and open air. Headache with flickering before eyes on rising in morning. Eyes sunken and dim, have a weary look, and are surrounded by blue rings. Dimness of vision and spots before eyes, especially on waking ; dim vision with headache. Flickering before eyes, as of various colors, glittering needles, visions of smoke or fog. Convergent strabismus. Left eye drawn toward inner canthus. Sense of smell diminished (Chronic coryza). Dryness of nose, or fluent coryza (morning). Frequent sneezing, with profuse discharge from nose, and loss of smell and taste ; various nervous symptoms of head and ears present ; itching in ears (Coryza). Catarrh with excessive sneezing and rheumatic pains in head and ears. Pressing pain over nasal bones (Coryza). Salty taste of all food. Saliva has a salty taste, which is communicated to all the food eaten. No thirst all day, but it occurs in evening as face and hands become warm. Pork disagrees. Violent hiccough. Diarrhœa renewed after every cup of coffee. Heat in rectum, with swelling of hemorrhoidal veins. Pressure in rectum or anus ; tenesmus. Drawing pressive pain in and about anus and perineum, as if a spot was suppurating ; when walking or sitting. Hemorrhoidal flow. Cough most violent during sleep, never caused by talking, or walking, even against a cold wind. Burning sore pain in heels, when walking in open air ; also when standing or sitting. Enervation of whole body, burdensome to move even a limb. Extremely restless and uneasy at night. Early awaking, yet so tired and sleepy, cannot arise. Frequent yawning. Great inclination to slumber, mornings. Sleepiness and chilliness. Chilliness all over body, not relieved by any amount of clothing.

Euphorbium Officinarum
Bruised pain in head, especially in occiput and forehead, < in morning, > by cold applications. Chills, headache, frontal and occipital, with stiffness of cervical muscles ; pains in back and limbs ; general malaise ; prostration ; watery discharge from eyes and nose, with burning and smarting ; also burning and smarting in trachea, with profuse secretion of mucus ; tickling in larynx with cough (Influenza). Severe spasmodic cough, day and night, interrupting sleep, and greatly wearing him out ; cough dry, with stitches which seem to proceed from pit of stomach to both sides of chest. Dry cough day and night ; sputa copious only in morning. Cough with asthma. Painfulness of coccyx as if in the bone, < on rising from sitting and beginning to move ; sensitive to touch ; three times daily diarrheic stools, which < pain in coccyx. Pains in hip joint on moving, as if sprained ; burning pain at night in femur and hip joint. Tearing, stinging, pressing pains, > by motion, < during rest ; paralytic sensation, with difficulty of rising from seat. Feeling in middle of chest as if hot food had been swallowed. A suffocating itching in the nose, extending to the brain, with abundant flow of mucus from the posterior nares. Frequent sneezing.

CAUSTICUM

Weeping at the least worry (trifles), children.Sensation of empty space between forehead and brain.Coryza without discharge(dry),influenza after dry cold in winter, aching all over the body (Eup.perf).Hair of nostrils falls out.Hoarseness < in morning.Coryza, with great stoppage of the nose; breathing through the nose and mouth impeded.

EUPATORIUM PERFOLIATUM

Coryza with thirst, drinking causes vomiting. 'Coryza, with aching in every bone'which impels patient to move but no relief.'Influenza : with weakness of pulse and great prostration ; with pain in bones ; with pain in back and limbs ; lassitude ; skin bathed in perspiration ; surface pale and morbidly sensitive ; of old people and inebriates.Epidemic influenza.'Hoarseness < in morning, cough with extreme soreness of chest along trachea.Head pain, on coughing(agg.).Must hold chest with both hands (Dros), while coughing.

IPECACUANHA
Coryza, incessant cough with every breath, face pale, great dyspnoea. Constant nausea, immediately after vomiting there is, instead of relief, a desire to vomit again, clean or not very dirty tongue, profuse salivation with the nausea, as if the stomach were hanging down relaxed.

RANUNCULUS BULBOSUS

Chilliness in chest when walking in open air. Pressure and smarting in eyeballs. Stitches in chest, between shoulder-blades; worse, inspiring, moving. < during inspiration (hay fever), general sensitiveness to air, to cold air Hay fever ; smarting in eyes ; eyelids burn and feel sore ; nose stuffed up, especially toward evening, with pressure at root of nose and tingling and crawling sensation within its cavity ; sometimes this sensation attacks posterior nares, causing patient to hawk and swallow and endeavor in every way to scratch affected part ; hoarseness ; sharp, stitching pains in and about chest ; general muscular soreness ; neck of bladder may be affected, producing some burning in passing water. < wine. Entering a cold place agg. < When temperature becomes lower; draught of air; rainy, stormy weather.

RANUNCULUS SCELERATUS
Mapped or peeled tongue, associated with smarting, burning, and rawness. Lachrymation, with watery nasal discharge. Ordinary catarrh, with sneezing, fluent coryza, pains in joints and burning on urination. Sensation as if face were covered with spider web. Slight drawing with feeling of coldness above right eyebrow, down cheek, as far as corner of mouth. Restlessness, tossing about in bed at night. Pain in eyes < on motion of eyes. Excoriation of mucous membrane (mouth). Pain in abdomen, sensation as if, diarrhœa would come on. Ennlarged, spleen. Chest, pain, sore, stitching; weakness in chest. Extremities, gnawing pain in joints. Restless sleep, interrupted after midnight, anxious frightful dreams. Fever after walking in open air. < evening, < before midnight.
