DULCAMARA
Antipsoric and anti sycotic.
Patient is worse when the weather suddenly becomes colder (especially if it be damp), the morbid condition is such as to be influenced by the atmospheric change.
In Rhododendron when there is a wind storm there is aggravation even though the patient be warm and in bed.
Both Abrotanum and Rhus tox. have relief from motion and aggravation from rest; both aggravated by cold applications particularly when wet. DULCAMARA patient is irritable, Rhus patient is anxious and depressed;Swollen glands (Dulcamara painless; Rhus painful); menses (Dulcamara late, scanty, too short duration; Rhus too soon, profuse, of long duration);< before midnight Dulcamara (Rhus worse from evening till morning). Dulcamara inclined to scold (Mosch) without being angry; an inability to speak, knows what he has to say but cannot find the right word (Sulph); if told the word he can say it easily; great restlessness and impatience; delirium at night during the pain and fever (hot stage); on awaking in morning vertigo feels giddy and dizzy (Lachesis), dark before the eyes and weakness.
Boring pain in head from within outward < before midnight and by lying quietly, sensation of enlargement of cerebellum; thick crusts on scalp, hair falls out. Inflammation in eyes due to catching cold in damp cold places; twitching of eyelids and lips in cold air. Hardness of hearing, roaring in ears and rush of blood to head. Bleedind of very brighr red blood from nose with pressure at root of nose (Ruta).After disappearance of tetters, faceache and violent asthma and vice versa. Circumscribed redness of cheeks with paleness of face (Lyco.,Phos.).Like Mercurius, Dulcamara has dryness of tongue (subjective) with much thirst and increased flow of saliva, like Mercurius tongue is swollen so that he cannot be understood yet he talks continually. When on taking cold tongue becomes partially paralysed, jaws stiff. Fever: violent thirst for cold liquids (Acon.,Ars.). In intermittents violent hunger after hot stage. (China: thist in all stages and durin apyrexia). Stomach: empty eructations with throbbings (Ant tart.,Puls.) as from disgust. Frequent eructations while eating ( Arg-nit. after eating; Iodium morning tll evening; Kali-carb. alternates with weak empty feeling at epigastrium). Sensation of retraction at epigastrium with burning (Plumb. with colicky pains - Podo). Violent pinching in abdomen as if a worm were crawling in up and down the abdomen and was gnawing and pinching the parts. Vomits whitish tough mucus. Rash (Kali-carb nettle rash) before menses (itchig between shoulder blades Carbo-veg.; on forehead Sarsap,). Menses too late too short, with watery discharge.
Homoeopathy safer and superior medicine
If the proof of the pudding is in eating, it is impossible to deny that like cures like.
A good guideline to remember is: Homoeopathy as the general rule; allopathy as a last resort.
