CHILBLAINS

In winter many people get affected from chilblains or frostbites; this is a very troublesome painful and annoying condition, smokers, people suffering from diabetes and diseases of blood vessels are more likely to develop chilblains, children and old people get chilblains more easily, they are more common in women than men; small, itchy, painful, red swellings on the skin develop, they may join together to form a larger swollen, red area of skin.

Chilblains commonly develop on: fingers, toes, ear lobes, nose, cheeks, heels, shins, thighs, and hips.

1.Agaricus: 

Ear, itches with feeling of burning there is redness feels as if frozen (chilblains or frostbite). 

Both hands burn and itch affected parts are hot with redness and swelling; toes are inflamed and painful; nose frost-bitten and itches, skin, itching, crawling.

 

चिंता भय , अंग  का   फड़कना, काँपना, थरथराना, झुनझुनी जैसे ठण्ड से जम गया हो , नींद आ जाने पर (फड़कना, काँपना, थरथराना, झुनझुनी) बंद हो जाना; बहुत उदास,

चक्कर आना आँखों की पलकें एवं चेहरे का   फड़कना ;कान  लाल , जलन एवं खुजली; नाक जैसे बर्फीली हवा से जम गई हो; बिना बदबू  की ज्यादा मात्रा में अपान वायु ; हांथ काँपना ;लगातार सर्दी का अहसास 

ठंडी हवा में जाने से तकलीफ बढ़ना , बिस्तर की गरमाहट  से आराम 

 

2 Abrotanum

Frost-bitten parts itch. Fingers and toes are cold and numb. In fingertips there is pricking sensation.

 

3 Arnica

Chilblains are painful. Inflammation is caused by pressure or friction.

 

4 Arsenicum album

Chilblains inflamed painful, vesicles form and become blackish with tendency to gangrene; nightly aggravation; burning relieved by heat.

5 Kali Carb

Fleshy aged people. Chilblains in toes, swelling and redness of soles with aching cutting stitching pains. Early morning aggravation.

6 Nitric Acid

Chilblains, inflamed, painful, vesicular; there is swelling and pain especially in very cold weather.

Chilblains inflame from a slight degree of cold. Skin cracked. All symptoms of ‘Nitric acid’ patients feel improved when riding in a carriage.

7 Nux Moschata

Chilblains, feet and hands feel cold as if frozen. There is tingling under nails when entering a warm room. Chilblains return every winter. Dryness of mucous membranes and skin. Cold extremities.

 

8 Nux Vomica

Chilblains, inflamed, swelling bright red, pulsating. Chilblains in fingers, feet and toes.

Cracked and bleed easily.

9 Petroleum

Chilblains moist itch burn are painful. Chilblains in hands, fingers, feet, toes. Feet, cracked inflamed.  Feet, heel, swollen and red. 

 

10 Tamus communis

Chilblains; sun-burns and other blemishes of the skin 

 

11 Pulsatilla Nigricans

Chilblains, inflamed, painful, itching of fingers and toes, feet purple. 

Patient seeks the open air, always feels better there, even though he is chilly.

 

12 Rhus Toxicodendron

Chilblains, vesicular; burning, itching, during afternoon and evening, pricking when not scratching obliging him to scratch.

Blotches after scratching. Intolerable itching at night.

13 SULPHUR

Chilblains, redness and swelling, parts inflamed vesicular, suppurating; itching < in warm bed; feet, purple. Aversion to being washed, very red lips.

 

14 ZINCUM MET

Hands and feet swollen itching violently. Fidgety feet.
