CORYZA (Common Cold)
Coryza is a very common ailment and all of us face it, I hope that the following brief points may help us in getting relief, we should keep these remedies in our home kit.

ACONITUM NAPELLUS:
Sometime after exposure to cold when feeling of cold has passed off Aconite 6CH,12CH,30CH [1 drop every 30 minutes for 4 to 6 doses afterwards every two hours]
ALLIUM CEPA:
Colds in damp cold weather. When the person enters a warm room, sneezing comes. Much tears which are not acrid and much discharge from nose which is very acrid. Tickling cough from inspiring cold air, patient is better out of doors. [6CH,12CH,30CH, 1 drop 2 hourly]
ARSENICUM ALBUM:
From nose comes thin watery discharge which makes the parts sore, difficulty in breathing nose feels stopped up. Sneezing gives no relief, patient feels uncomfortable in open air but better in the room. [6CH,12CH,30CH, 1 drop 3 hourly]
BELLIS PERENNIS:
Effects of cold drinks when overheated. Wetting when overheated. [1 drop of 6CH,12CH, 2 hourly]
CALCAREA CARBONICA:
Coryza. Takes cold at every change of weather. Catarrhal symptoms with hunger; coryza alternates with colic.
CAMPHORA:
Soon after exposure to cold. First stages of a cold, with chilliness and sneezing. Camphor MT,6CH,12CH [1 drop every 15 minutes, until chill passes off]
CARBO VEGETABILIS:
Coryza with cough, especially in moist, warm weather. Ineffectual efforts to sneeze. Coryza, annual (hay fever). [6CH 1 drop 6 hourly]
EUPHRASIA OFFICINALIS:
Much acrid tears and much discharge from nose which is not acrid, sneezing.Violent cough and much expectoration. [6CH,12CH,30CH, 1 drop 2 hourly]
HEPAR SULPHUR:
Nostrils are sore and ulcerated, sneezes every time he goes into a cold, dry wind, with running from nose (discharge is thin, watery, excoriating), later if the trouble goes on discharge becomes thick and bad smelling. Nose stopped. [6CH 1 drop 2 hourly]
KALIUM IODATUM:
Nose red and swollen. Tip of nose red; profuse, acrid, hot, watery, thin discharge. From the least cold repeated attacks of violent, acrid coryza, with bloated eyelids, stinging pain in the ears, redness of the face, white-coated tongue, nasal voice, violent thirst, alternate heat and chilliness, dark, hot urine, headache, and great soreness and tenderness of the nose. [6CH 1 drop 2 hourly]
MAGNESIUM MURIATICUM:
Loss of taste and smell with cold. Cannot lie down. Must breathe through mouth. [6CH 1 drop 3 hourly]
MERCURIUS SOLUBILIS:
There is sneezing when the person goes in sunshine; discharge from nose is bad smelling, it is thick and yellow-green. Patient feels more discomfort in the warm room. [6CH,12CH,30CH, 1 drop 3 hourly]
MERCURIUS IODATUS RUBER (Bin-iodide):
Early stages of cold, especially in children. [6CH 1 drop 6 hourly]
NATRIUM ARSENICOSUM:
Nasal catarrh, with headache, pain at root of nose, dry and painful eyes. Facilitates the termination of the cold and conserves strength and appetite. [6CH 1 drop 6 hourly]
NUX VOMICA:
Very irritable. Nose blocked but little discharge, at night especially. Stuffy colds after exposure to dry, cold atmosphere; worse, in warm room. Coryza is fluent in daytime; stuffed up at night and outdoors; coryza alternates between nostrils. Acrid discharge, with stuffed up feeling. [6CH 1 drop 2 hourly]
PULSATILLA PRATENSIS:
Loss of taste with cold. [6CH 1 drop 3 hourly]
SANGUINARIA CANADENSIS:
There is a burning sensation in many parts. Influenzal coughs. Sudden stopping of catarrh of respiratory tract followed by diarrhœa. Hay-fever. There is profuse, bad smelling yellowish discharge. Fluent watery acrid coryza, feeling of constriction in throat. [6CH 1 drop 2 hourly]
STAPHYSAGRIA:
Ill effects of anger and insults. Sexual sins and excesses. Violent coryza, one nostril is stuffed up, with much sneezing and lachrymation.
SULPHUR:
Nose stuffed indoors. Imaginary foul smells. Loss of smell with cold. [6CH 1 drop 3 hourly]
