Friends today we shall talk about a problem of youth, every boy or girl faces this trouble and sometimes it is very inveterate, sometimes acne leaves spots on face which is very embarrassing and often causes shyness avoiding company and even depression especially in girls.

If such a trouble starts in our own family give one of the medicines ( which is most similar to the symptoms of our patient) without delay, afterwards consult your doctor. ACNE

BELLIS PERENNIS: Complaints due to cold food or drink when the body is heated, and in affections due to cold wind. Externally, in nævi. Acne. Boils all over.

RADIUM BROMATUM: Fear of being alone in the dark; great desire to be with people. Itching all over body, burning of skin, as if afire. Dreams vivid, busy. Dreams of fire.

LAPPA ARCTIUM: Eruptions on the head, face, and neck; pimples; acne. Styes and ulcerations on the edge of the eyelids. Profuse and frequent urination. Crops of boils and styes (Anthracin).

PULSATILLA PRATENSIS: Acne at puberty.  The patient seeks the open air; always feels better there, even though he is chilly. Wants the head high. Feels uncomfortable with only one pillow. Lies with hands above head. Swelling of lower lip, which is cracked in middle. Averse to fat food, warm food, and drink. 

Pix Liquida: Acne. Eruptions, esp. on backs of hands, itching intolerably at night and bleeding when scratched. Great exhaustion.

BELLADONNA: Boils. Acne rosacea. Indurations after inflammations. Heat, redness, throbbing and burning. 

CARBO ANIMALIS: Spongy ulcers, copper-coloured eruption. Acne rosacea. Worse, after shaving, loss of animal fluids. Hearing confused; cannot tell direction of sound. Desire to be alone, sad and reflective, avoids conversation.

HYDROCOTYLE ASIATICA: Syphilitic affections. Acne. Leprosy. Elephantiasis (Ars). 

Rhus toxicodendron: Burning eczematous eruptions with tendency to scale formation. Face pale, sunken, with blue rings under the eyes, and pointed nose. Erysipelatous swelling of the face, with burning, tingling, and stinging. Erysipelas, with vesicles containing yellow water. Great debility, weakness and soreness, especially when sitting, and when at rest.

AGARICUS MUSCARIUS: Sensation as if pierced by needles of ice. Facial muscles feel stiff; twitch; face itches and burns. Itching in the face, with redness and burning, as if frozen.

ARSENICUM IODATUM: Acne hard, shotty, indurated base with pustule at apex. Dry, scaly, itching. Marked exfoliation of skin in large scales, leaving a raw exuding surface beneath.

SULPHUR IODATUM: Papular eruption on face. Cold-sores on lips. Boils on neck. Barber's itch. Acne. 

Sulphur is most often called for in Acne, in Sulphur the skin is harsh and rough; the acne is principally on the face and is associated with comedones. Great aggravation from water. Especially in women who have scanty menses and irregular circulation of blood.

Ledum: Red, pimply eruption on the face ; small pimples at the root of the nose ; acne in brandy drinkers.

Antim. crud: All the conditions are aggravated by heat and cold bathing. Cannot bear heat of sun. Tendency to grow fat. Acne due to sexual excesses, masturbation, etc. 

Aurum: Cannot do things fast enough. Foul breath in girls at puberty. Worse, in cold weather when getting cold. Many complaints come on only in winter; from sunset to sunrise. Hopeless, despondent, and great desire to commit suicide. Acne due to sexual excesses, masturbation, etc.

Phosphoric acid: Young people who grow rapidly, and who are overtaxed, mentally or physically. Mental debility first; later physical. Feeling of tension on face as from dried albumen.  Falling out of the hair (Nat mur; Selen). Acne due to sexual excesses, masturbation, etc.

Kalium bromatum: Acne due to sexual excesses, masturbation, etc. Acne of face, pustules. Itching; worse on chest, shoulders, and face. Fidgety hands; busy twitching of fingers. Effects of sexual excesses, especially loss of memory, impaired co-ordination, numbness and tingling in limbs.

Natr. mur: Skin of face is oily, shiny, as if greased. Constipation; stool dry, crumbling (Am m; Mag m). Ill effects of grief, fright, anger, etc. Depressed. Consolation aggravates.

Antim. Tart: Pustular eruption, leaving a bluish-red mark. Warts.

Hepar sulphur: Unhealthy skin; every little injury suppurates. Acne in youth. Wants to be wrapped up warmly.

Carboneum Sulphuratum: Eruption like the acne of drunkards, on nose and cheeks. Toothache brought on by warm food. Comedones. 

CALCAREA SILICATA: Very sensitive to cold. Patient is weak, emaciated, cold and chilly, but worse from being overheated. Skin itching, burning, cold and blue, very sensitive. Pimples, comedones, wens. 

CARBO VEGETABILIS: Acne simple and recent in young persons.

ABROTANUM: Eruptions come out on face; are suppressed, and the skin becomes purplish. Skin flabby and loose. Falling out of hair.

Hot water is the least injurious local application which may be used. Thorough washing with Castile soap and hot water is good. Under no condition should medicated applications be used.
