Alzheimer's
disease, when to use the medicine ‘GUAIACUM’

GUAIACUM
Arthritic diathesis. Contractions and nodosities. Arthritic pains, heat
in affected parts – intolerant of pressure, can bear no heat. Disposition to
hawk, stretch, yawn.
Secondary syphilis.
Persistent deafness, with recurring earaches.
Facial neuralgia.
Neuralgic toothache.
Tonsillitis.
Ovaritis in rheumatic patients, with irregular menstruation and
dysmenorrhoea.
Chronic inflammation of the ovaries, with agonizing pains, irritable
bladder.
Pleuritic pains in apex of lungs, especially in consumption.
In consumption it relieves the extremely offensive expectoration (compare
Cap.)
General tendency to emaciation. Growing pains in children.
Unclean odour from whole body.
Discharges offensive.
Stomach affections return every summer. Desire for apples.
Muscles feel too short – eyelids, back, thigh etc, eyelids feel too
short, eyeballs feel too big for lids. Exophthalmos.
Guaiacum pains are worse in cold wet weather.
Copious perspiration on head when walking in open air.
Late sleeping early waking.
Obstinacy. Strong desire to criticise, and to despise everything. Indolence
and dread of movement. Weakness of memory, and excessive forgetfulness, esp. of
names. Fixed look, and absence of ideas, esp. in the morning.
If we find Alzheimer's disease in
a patient having some of the symptoms given above GUAIACUM may help.
