West Nile virus (WNV) is a mosquito-borne viral disease, you can reduce your risk of WNV by using insect repellent and wearing long-sleeved shirts and long pants to prevent mosquito bites. The incubation period is usually 3 to 14 days. People who are infected may develop a fever ( West Nile fever ) with other symptoms such as headache, body aches, joint pains, tiredness , vomiting, diarrhea, occasionally skin  rash (on the trunk of the body) and swollen lymph glands.
