West Nile virus (WNV) is a mosquito-borne viral disease, you can reduce your risk of WNV by using insect repellent and wearing long-sleeved shirts and long pants to prevent mosquito bites. The incubation period is usually 3 to 14 days.People who are infected may develop a fever (West Nile fever) with other symptoms such as headache, body aches, joint pains, tiredness, vomiting, diarrhea, occasionally skin rash (on the trunk of the body) and swollen lymph glands. After recovering completely, fatigue and weakness can last for weeks or months.
The symptoms of severe disease [also called neuroinvasive disease, such as West Nile encephalitis (inflammation of the brain) or meningitis (inflammation of the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord) or West Nile poliomyelitis] include headache, high fever, neck stiffness, stupor, disorientation, coma, tremors, convulsions, muscle weakness, and paralysis.
Prevention: Thuja MT, Ledum pal MT, Belladonna MT, Eup.perf.MT and Ipecac MT (mix one drop of each MT in 100ml water- shake it well, Dose: children 10ml twice daily, adults 20ml twice daily - most probably it will protect you and your family).
