Antimonium  tart. — 

Eruption  does  not  come  out  properly  or  has  been repelled.

Great  difficulty  of  breathing ;  face  bluish,  purple,  drowsiness  and twitching.  

Indicated  as  well  in  the  beginning  for  the  dry  teasing  cough as  in  putrid  variola  with  typhoid  pneumonia  and  tendency  to  paralysis  of lungs.

Vomiting  of  viscid  mucus,  clogging  air-passages.

Antimonium tartaricum (Tartar emetic)

Mind: Child wants to be carried, but cries if anyone touches it, will not let you feel the pulse.

Head: Vertigo with drowsiness.

Face: Convulsive twitches in almost every muscle of the face. Face pale and sunken, or cyanotic.

Mouth and Throat: Tongue very thinly white with reddened papillae, red edges; particularly with whooping cough.

Stomach: Nausea and vomiting with constipation (old people). Desire for fruit, sour things, or very cold drinks. Vomiting followed by coldness, prostration and drowsiness.

Abdomen: Colic as if the bowels would be cut to pieces; labor-like tearing from above downward, and with rumbling and looseness.

Urinary Organs: Painful urging to urinate, scanty discharge, dark red, or the last bloody, with stitches in the bladder and burning in urethra.

Female Sexual Organs: Leucorrhoea of watery blood, liable to occur in paroxysms, worse while sitting.

Respiratory Organs: 

Cough grows less frequent; patient shows signs of carbonized blood. 

Rattling or hollow cough, worse at night, with suffocation; throat full of phlegm; sweat on forehead; vomiting of food. 

When the child coughs there appears to be a large collection of mucus in the bronchial tubes; it seems as if much would be expectorated, but nothing comes. 

If children get angry the coughing spell comes on; also after eating.

Coughing and gaping consecutively, particularly children, with crying or dozing and twitching in face.  

The head trembles, particularly when coughing, with an inward trembling, teeth chattering and drowsiness more in the evening and in the warmth.

Extremities: Violent pains in sacro-lumbar region; the slightest effort to move causes retching and cold sweat.

Sleep and Dreams: Cannot keep her eyes open; irresistible drowsiness, and deep, stupefied sleep; when awake, hopelessness and despair, or chill and fever, or vomiting of food. Great sleepiness; irresistible inclination to sleep with nearly all complaints.

Skin: Pustular eruption or confluent, face, mouth, and fauces, oesophagus, stomach, jejunum, genitals.

Generalities: Beating and throbbing through the whole body, particularly in belly or pit of stomach, with great concern about the future.
