PRURITUS VULVAE

AMBRA. — Especially useful when of purely nervous origin, or during pregnancy. Violent itching of the vulva ; soreness and swelling of the labia ; menses too early and too profuse ; discharge of blood between the periods from every slight accident, as after hard stool or walking ; urine deposits a brown sediment ; patient, nervous and hysterical. 

ARSENICUM. — Especially when resulting from uterine cancer, or from irritating discharges ; burning and itching ; vesicular or dry scaly eruptions, gangrenous tendency ; worse at night, better from warmth and warm applications. 

CALADIUM. — An efficient remedy both internally and locally. No special indications other than it produces pruritus of the vulva and vagina, and has repeatedly cured the condition ; also when associated with papular eruptions on the genitals.

CALCAREA OSTREARUM

Itching and burning of genitals of both sexes. Corpulent, acidity and dislike of fat. Takes cold at every change of weather. craving for indigestible things-chalk, coal, pencils. Frequent sour eructations; sour vomiting. Dislike of fat. Loss of appetite when overworked. Menses too early, too profuse, too long, with vertigo, toothache and cold, damp feet; the least excitement causes their return. Leucorrhśa, milky (Sepia). Burning and itching of parts before and after menstruation; in little girls. Cold, damp feet; feel as if damp stockings were worn.  

CANTHARIS. — Swelling and irritation of the vulva. Violent itching in the vagina. Pruritus with strong sexual desire. Dysuria, frequent micturition with burning and cutting pain. 

CARBOLIC ACID. — Useful both internally and externally when resulting from putrid, irritating discharges, and when there is a vesicular eruption which itches excessively, better after rubbing, but leaving a burning pain. 

CARBO VEG. — Red, sore places on the vulva ; apthae (Helonias) ; itching, sore and raw during leucorrhea. Leucorrhea, thin in morning, on rising, not through the day ; milky, excoriating. Menses too early and too profuse. 

COLLINSONIA. — Especially during pregnancy or when dependent on or associated with hemorrhoids, constipation or other rectal troubles ; violent itching, parts badly swollen, dark red and protruding. 

CONIUM. — Especially in scrofulous or cancerous subjects ; severe itching deep in the vagina ; thick, white, acrid leucorrhea causing itching and burning.

CROTON TIGLIUM

Catamenia too scanty. Intense itching of genitals, > by very gentle scratching. Intense itching of genitals of both sexes (Rhus); vesicular eruption on male; so sensitive and sore is unable to scratch. 

GRAPHITES. — Itching of the pudenda before menstruation. Menses too late, too scanty and too pale. Vesicles or excoriations in the vagina, on the perineum, vulva, and between the thighs.

HYDROCOTYLE ASIATICA

Pruritus of vagina. Profuse leucorrhœa. Dull pain in ovarian region. Deep seated heat in vagina ; shooting and itching in orifice. Insupportable itching of vagina. Heat and redness of vagina and vulva.   

HELONIAS. — Especially in anaemic women, with uterine atony, prolapsus and leucorrhea ; apthous conditions ; intense pruritus, parts hot, red and swollen, exfoliations of epidermis. 

KALI BROMATUM. — Pruritus from ovarian or uterine irritation ; diabetes ; urine loaded with sugar ; incontinence of urine ; nervous unrest. 

KREOSOTUM. — Violent itching of the labia, also of the vagina ; external genitals swollen ; hot, hard and sore ; soreness and smarting between the labia and vulva. Itching during and after menstruation. Leucorrhea of a yellow color, staining linen yellow, with great weakness.

LILIUM TIGRINUM

Pruritus pudendi. Profound depression of spirits; can hardly avoid weeping. Menses: early, scanty, dark, offensive; flow only when moving about; cease to flow when she ceases to walk (Caust. - on lying down, Kreos., Mag. c.). Sensation as if heart was grasped in a vise (Cac.) 

LYCOPODIUM CLAVATUM

< four to eight P.M. Dryness of vagina; burning in, during and after coition (Lys.); physometra. Intolerant of cold drinks; craves everything warm. Pre-senility. Lacks vital heat; has poor circulation, cold extremities. Menses too late; last too long, too profuse. Coition painful. Right ovarian pain. Varicose veins of pudenda. Leucorrhœa, acrid, with burning in vagina. Discharge of blood from genitals during stool.

MERCURIUS. — Leucorrhea, always worse at night, greenish discharge, smarting, corroding, itching, burning after scratching. Inflammation of vagina, and especially the external genitals, with rawness, smarting, and excoriating spots. Itching of the genitals, worse from the contact of urine.

MEZEREUM

Menses too frequent, soon, profuse. Leucorrhœa like albumen; very corroding. Patient is very sensitive to cold air.

NATRIUM MURIATICUM

Great emaciation; loosing flesh while living well (Abrot., Iod.). Tongue mapped, with red insular patches. Has to wait a long time for urine to pass if others are present (Hep; Mur ac).

NUX VOMICA

Zealous fiery temperament. Patients are easily chilled, avoid open air. Very irritable. Cannot bear noises, odors, light, etc. Does not want to be touched. Time passes too slowly. Even the least ailment affects her greatly. Disposed to reproach others. Sullen, fault-finding. Oversensitive; to external impressions; to noise, odors, light or music (Nux m.); trifling ailments are unbearable (Cham.).Menses too early, lasts too long; always irregular, blood black (Cycl; Lach; Puls) with faint spells. Prolapsus uteri. Dysmenorrhœa, with pain in sacrum, and constant urging to stool. Metrorrhagia, with sensation as if bowels wanted to move.

NITRIC ACID. — Especially in syphilitic subjects, and those who have taken much Mercury ; itching of the vulva ; ulcers in the vagina, burning and itching ; offensive leucorrhea. 

PETROLEUM. — Itching, soreness and moisture of external genitals ; menses too early, the discharge causing excoriation and itching ; eczematous eruptions. 

PLATINA. — In hysterical subjects, especially during pregnancy, voluptuous tingling extending from genitals into abdomen ; nymphomania ; anxiety and palpitation of the heart ; menses profuse, flow dark and clotted.

PULSATILLA PRATENSIS

The patient seeks the open air; always feels better there, even though he is chilly. Discharges thick, bland, and yellowish-green. Symptoms ever changing. Thirstless, peevish, and chilly. When first serious impairment of health is referred to age of puberty. Too late, scanty, thick, dark, clotted, changeable, intermittent. Chilliness, nausea, downward pressure, painful, flow intermits. Leucorrhśa acrid, burning, creamy. Pain in back; tired feeling. Diarrhśa during or after menses. 

RHUS TOXICODENDRON. — Resulting from acrid menstrual flow or erysipelatous or eczematous inflammation of the vulva ; much burning and itching. 

SEPIA. — Long standing chronic cases associated with uterine displacement ; or during pregnancy, child-bed, or while nursing ; great dryness of the vulva and vagina, which are painful to the touch ; soreness and redness of the labia, in the perineum and between the thighs ; excoriating leucorrhea, yellow like milk, or pus, or of bad smelling fluids. 

SILICEA. — In scrofulous subjects ; imperfect nutrition ; itching burning and soreness in the vulva ; acrid, corrosive leucorrhea eczematous, pustular or herpetic eruptions, with a tendency to suppuration.

STAPHYSAGRIA 

Parts very sensitive, worse sitting down (Berb; Kreos). Irritable bladder in young married women. Leucorrhœa. Prolapsus, with sinking in the abdomen; aching around the hips. Urging to urinate, has to sit at urinal for hours; in young married women; after coition.

SULPHUR. — Chronic cases in " psoric" patients ; profuse yellow, corrosive leucorrhea ; itching of the genitals, with papular eruptions around them ; burning in the vagina, is scarcely able to keep still ; voluptuous itching and tingling, with burning and soreness after scratching ; worse from the warmth of the bed.
