ARSENICUM ALBUM 

Ailments from alcoholism. Visions of ghosts and fanciful figures with trembling and weakness; diseased from overuse of alcohol; must have their accustomed drink. Trembling of the limbs (in drunkards). Madness; loss of mind (from the abuse of alcoholic drinks). Longing for cold water, acids, coffee, milk or alcoholic drinks. Stool small, offensive, dark, with much prostration. Worse at night, and after eating and drinking; from chilling stomach, alcoholic abuse, spoiled meat. Dyspepsia from vinegar, acids, ice-cream, ice-water, tobacco.

Aggravation, at night, after midnight, (1 A.M.). Aggravation from cold in general. Aggravation after drinking (wine or alcoholic drinks). Aggravation from cold food (ice-cream). Aggravation from milk. Aggravation while lying on the affected side, or with the head low.

Amelioration. From heat in general. Amelioration from lying with the head high.

ASARUM EUROPUM

Desire for alcoholic drinks (beer). Scratching on silk or linen or paper unbearable. Always feels cold. Amelioration. Many symptoms disappear from washing the face in cold water, and from wetting the affected part.

CALCAREA CARBONICA 

Head pain aggravated from spirituous liquors.

CAPSICUM ANNUUM

Abstainers from accustomed alcoholics. Delirium tremens. Fat, indolent, opposed to physical exertion, averse to go outside of their routine, get homesick easily. General uncleanliness of body. Intense craving for stimulants. Homesickness, with redness of the cheeks and sleeplessness.

CROTALUS HORRIDUS

Gastritis in chronic alcoholism. Hungry, craves stimulants, sugar; averse to meat.

HYOSCYAMUS NIGER

Constant loquacious delirium, small, quick and compressible pulse, cold and clammy skin. Delirium tremens, with clonic spasms; unconsciousness and aversion to light and company.

LAC CANINUM

Desires alcoholic drinks ,whisky , highly seasoned food, milk , pepper, pungent things .

LACHESIS MUTUS 

Visions of snakes and hideous objects ; sensation in throat as if choking ; waking suddenly out of sleep. All the symptoms are worse after sleep, especially after the siesta, or from taking acids, from alcoholic drinks. The cough is worse, during the day, after sleeping, from changes in the temperature, from alcoholic drinks, from acids and sour drinks. Trembling of the hands (in drunkards).

NUX VOMICA

Morning vomiting, trembling of hands, nervous affections, bad taste in mouth, headache. Constant uneasiness and troublesome visions. Delirium tremens with over-sensitiveness, nervous excitability and malicious vehemence. Time passes too slowly. Longing for brandy and chalk. Empty vomiturition ; straining to vomit (in drunkards). Intoxication from the drunkenness on the previous day, with vanishing of sight and bearing ; worse after dinner and in the sun.

OPIUM 

In old " sinners " whose constitution is a wreck and who have had repeated attacks of the disease.There is a constant expression of fright or terror; they have visions of animals springing up everywhere, see ghosts, and sleep is disturbed; breathing is stertorous; it is especially applicable to those cases which simulate apoplexy. Dulness and stupefaction of the head, as from drunkenness.Delirium tremens ; with diminished sensitiveness of the senses and stupor with snoring. Stupor, must lie down ; snoring sleep and half-open eyes.

RANUNCULUS BULBOSUS 

Ranunculus bulbosus has been found clinically to exert a beneficial effect on the maniacal attacks of drunkards. Sensitive to air and touch. Bad effects of Alcohol; delirium tremens. Cold air brings on all sorts of ailments. 

SELENIUM METALLICUM

Desires  alcoholic drinks  before menses, desires brandy, whisky, wine.

STRAMONIUM

Stramonium has visions of animals approaching him from every corner ; tries to escape ; bright red face. Delirium tremens. Cannot bear solitude or darkness; must have light and company. 

SULPHURICUM ACIDUM

Inebriates who are on their " last legs ;" they are pale, shriveled and cold, and their stomachs will not tolerate the slightest amount of food ; cannot drink water unless it contains whiskey. Their manner is quick and hasty in everything. It comes in long after Nux vomica. Great craving for brandy. Craving for alcohol. Water causes coldness of stomach; must be mixed with liquors. Relaxed feeling in stomach. Averse to smell of coffee.
